Black & Bleu™ is an application that shows you Apple’s explanation of thousands of Mac OS error codes. The database contains 5,045 error codes with Apple’s explanation of each. For example, say you got a message like:
 
Black & Bleu™ enhances Apple’s explanation of these Mac OS error codes by providing less cryptic and more useful detailed explanations and remedies for many of these errors. It takes the mystery out of error codes like “type 3 - dsIllInstErr” with explanations in plain English.
 
The type of detailed information desired about the error can be selected from 2 categories: a Non-technical User orientation and a Programmer orientation. The Non-technical User explanation is presented in a way that someone without a programming background can understand. The Programmer explanation is written in VERY technical terms that usually include source code that demonstrates the error. To understand the Programmer explanation, you should be familiar with Macintosh programming (in C or C++).
